Sharp drop in banana and plantain exports from Peru

 

 

Peruvian banana and plantain exports in January and February 2023 showed a significant decrease both in volume and value comparing to the same months of 2022. 

In January and February 2023, the country exported 25.474.873 kilos of said fruits worth $19.171.624, informs Agrodata Perú.

In the same term of 2022, Peru shipped 35.384.821 kilos of bananas and plantains for $26.829.680.

In the first two months of 2023, the main destination for these supplies was the Netherlands (31% of total value), followed by Belgium (15%), the United States (13%), Panama (12%), Italy (8%), Korea (6%), Germany (5%), and others.
