Chilean fresh fruit exports exceed $2 million in the first two months of 2023
Chilean fruit exports in the first two months of 2023 totaled 738,000 tons for a value of $2,547 million, according to the bulletin of the Office of Agrarian Studies and Policies (Odepa), corresponding to March.
Compared to the same term in 2022, this means an increase in volume of 14.3%, and in value of 7.3%.
88.7% of the total value corresponds to fresh fruit, 8.6% to processed and 2.7% to nuts.
Sales of fresh fruit reached 634,800 tons for $2,261 million, with an increase of 17.3% in volume and 4.6% in value, compared to the same period in 2022.
The protagonist of this category was cherry, with a total of 300,230 tons, followed by blueberry, with 67,600 tons. Table grapes were in third position, with 108,890,000 tons.
Nut shipments increased 326% in volume and 209% in value, compared to the same period last season, totaling 6,700 tons, equivalent to $68.98 million.
In turn, deliveries of processed fruit grew 6.3% in volume and 14.3% in value, accumulating 86,500 tons and generating $218 million.
