Peruvian mandarin campaign kicks off with impressive results

The Peruvian mandarin export campaign began in April. In the first 2 months of the campaign, supplies abroad totaled 18,587,403 kilos, showing an increase of 30.2% compared to the 14,276,502 kilos sent in the same period of 2020.

The volume in April was 5,251,439 kilos, and in May it reached 13,335,964 kilos. Last year in the same period, deliveries abroad totaled 6,518,612 kilos and 7,757,890 kilos, respectively.

In June (data until the 14th), the exported volume reached 11,495,860 kilos, when during entire June 2020 there were 25,555,048 kilos exported.

According to Fernando Cillóniz Benavides, the president of the consulting firm Inform@cción, this growth is explained by the increase in production of early varieties such as Satsuma, where Okitsu and Owari stand out.
