The harvest began nearly three weeks ago and in the Poverty Bay region, Hawke's Bay and Bay of Plenty. Depending on the weather, the bulk of the harvest will begin this week.

Zespri forecasts a harvest of 20 million trays of kiwifruit Gold, 70 million trays of green kiwifruit and 3.5 million trays of organic kiwifruit . Zespri is waiting to load about 50 ships over the next 30 weeks for Asia and Europe.
