Since about ten days, the strawberries season began in Carpentras (South of France).
The bad weathers conditions in the South delayed the beginning of the harvest of one week. The first collected varieties are Gariguette and Clery.
Mr Frizet, specialized exporter in the strawberry, plans an increase of the order of 15 is 20 % which will put its tonnage to more than 1 000 tons until the middle of July.
